Dear Younger me

Hey, I know we met sometime back, you will remember in the future. Come let’s sit and talk, shall we? 

I wish I knew this when I was your age, but well, wine does taste better with time. 😊. Now see that boy you are head over heels in love with? The one you are loosing yourself over? The one you would rather sit all day and watch his hair grow than go out and discover who you are?Yes that boy... He will break your heart. He will ask you to pack sand and hit the road. He will look you dead in the eye and say ‘it’s not you it’s me. You deserve someone better than me.’ It will hurt. You will think that the world has come to an end, you will wish and even pray for the end of the world, BUT the sun will keep shining, the moon will put up a show in your honor, air will find its way back to the lungs, you will love again. Enjoy every second you can't seem to find the rhythm, because your feet will not forget how to dance.

Do not be afraid to think about yourself, love your flaws and all the rough edges, they are part of your story. The author still has His pen in His hand, your story will knock the socks off your feet. You will be amazed at how talented you are, how much strength is in your back and how quick you are on your feet. How gracious you will deal with heart wrenching situations. Be patient with your growth. that fire in your bones that drives you to do things differently, feed it. Wake up each morning and choose you.

The first business ideas will be shot down, you will try and fail many times, you will succeed in some projects, but you are NOT a failure. Get back up again, take the lesson and get back on the horse, soon you will know how to ride the disappointment wave. You will make many friends and foes along the way, do not worry, time will help you know tell them apart.

You are worthy! I know you are still trying to find your footing in the world, do not forget that you are worthy. Your essence can only be found in you, No one else in this world can ever be a better version of you. Believe that! Say it to yourself each day till your heart knows this to be true.

Learn how to ride a bike and take swimming lessons, these two activities will bring you so much joy in your 30s. One will keep you calm the other will give you such a rush. One day you will ride a bike in a forest and you will LOVE every second, you will keep falling off the bike (if you do not learn early)BUT you will LOVE every time you get back on. 

Get yourself a passport early, you do not want to miss out on the opportunity to step out of your mother country. Also, one day you will have the opportunity to go to Dubai, this one Trip will change your entire course of life. This one trip will hit the reset button of your life. Take in EVERY moment. Drink MORE coffee to keep up and do all that you can when you go to Dubai.

I can’t wait to see the lady you become.

Your salvation is NOT a PR project!

My motto in life has always been :- Live and let Live. YES, I know as a Christian this might not be a popular way of life, because of the nature of being a follower of Christ. Added to God’s Mercy/ Grace / forgiving nature, He is a Just God / He is a Holy God / He a Jealous God. It is with this that my heart shutters each waking day that I have to see another sexual scandal affecting a gospel influencer/ icon. Am I with sin (*rolls eyes* duuh) who isn’t? I need God’s grace, now (each day) as I needed it when I got saved! 

With that said, let us (you and me Christian) agree that the sexual purity bus starts from your mind. (Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind). Now let’s stop here and first. Does it get any personal than your mind? Who ON EARTH has access to your mind other than you? Tell me? So, who is responsible of your sexual purity? The media? Your bae? The industry you are in?

Disclaimer : This is NOT as easy as it might sound. I UNDERSTAND. It will take the Holyghost to keep you wining this battle EVERYDAY.

Let’s get back to the sexual scandals affecting the gospel icons :- Music is Powerful (ask David- I will not refer you to lucifer).

The ONLY way to keep winning this war is by being So hidden in Christ, rooted in the word, and army of around you. Winning will Require vulnerability! We can win this war BUT we CANNOT walk in all wishy washy.
